Australian Nurses Leaving Career for Prostitution?

I know prostitution is legal in Australia but this article seems a bit of a stretch between legal and morally acceptable.  According to this article, nurses are finding their lack of adequate staffing and poor work environment so stressful that they would rather work in area brothels than continue to staff the hospitals.

Seems a bit far fetched but you can read the article for yourself and decide if you believe it or not.  I’ve got a lot of listeners and readers down under so I’m going to pass this one on to you.  What is this article talking about when it discusses the severity of the Nursing Shortage down there?

Is this just typical sensationalized journalism or is there merit to this type of story?  I have to wonder about how this type of shift in the marketplace would affect nurses in the U.S.?
