Tip of the Week– Ondansetron (Zofran) Medication Review

Zofran is commonly used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy medications and also as a prophylactic treatment  prior to surgery.  Available as both a quick dissolve tablet and in IV/IM solution.

Common Side Effects for Ondansetron :

• headache
• constipation
• drowsiness
• feeling cold
• numbness, burning, or tingling in the fingers or toes
• fever
• pain, redness, swelling, warmth, or burning in the place where ondansetron was injected
