Welcome to the Show

elderly_woman_driving_carWell good day and welcome to this episode of the Nursing Show. I’m your host Jamie Davis. There’s a great show coming up for you this week. First off, in the news, we look at a difficult topic to broach for some health professionals. When should our senior patients give up driving? Then, after the news, I bring you two more special segments from NTI 2013 with nurse educators Kelly Arashin and Barbara Furry as they talk about their presentations at the conference. We’ll have that and more later on in this episode of the Nursing Show.

Before that, though, I’d like you to follow up on all of the information in this episode. Take a moment to visit NursingShow.com and click the link for Shownotes at the top of the page. It will take you right to the most recent episode. Scroll down there and find all of the previous episodes. Follow-up on the links for the news items as well as all of the additional resource links that go with the tips of the week and interview segments. All of that is there for you at NursingShow.com. Make sure you take advantage of that information.

If you want to get back in touch with me, please drop me an email. You can send those e-mails in to NursingShow@Gmail.com. I love to hear from you and I make sure I respond back to every email that comes in. Send me links to news items you’d like me to cover, interview suggestions with you or somebody you know. Whatever the case may be, keep those e-mails coming.

Also, do your part to keep the Nursing Show coming out free for you each week, take a minute and head over to fill out our audience survey. You just go to NursingShow.com/survey.

Tip of the Week – Cardioverting with Confidence and Polypharmacy

logo-aacn

Let’s get in to our tip of the week this week. I have two more segments I recorded while at NTI 2013, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses conference in Boston last month. Before I go on, a special thank-you to Physio-Control for sponsoring my coverage at NTI and the trip to Boston. Without their generous support, I wouldn’t be able to bring you these upcoming interviews. First off, I bring back nurse educator Kelly Arashin for a chat about her presentation at the conference on Polypharmacy. Here’s my chat with Kelly in the Physio-Control booth at NTI.

Next up is a chat with our friend Barbara Furry who was one of the guest educators in the Physio-Control booth where she was chatting about cardioverting with confidence. That’s certainly something that I never thought of doing confidently but I think you’ll get her take on this and more about cardiac care in this special interview segment.
