She provides a great rundown of the most common social media sites including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, and even Flickr. NerdyNurseFinally, Brittney Wilson, a.k.a. “the Nerdy Nurse” checks in with a look at a recent news item about nurses and social media. Nurse Katie Duke was recently fired for reposting a photo already shared to social media by a physician of the clutter present in an empty ER bay after a resuscitation attempt. In her article “Katie Duke Shows Nurses How Not to Use Social Media,” Brittney points out some of the common pitfalls nurses and other healthcare professionals can fall into when using social media to post workplace photos or articles.
