Welcome to the Show
Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the Nursing Show podcast for nurses, by nurses. I’m your host Jamie Davis and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for checking out the show this week. First up, in this week’s nursing news items, we’ll take a look at an experimental Ebola treatment serum that could revolutionize the treatment of this deadly disease.
Then in this week’s tip of the week we’ll look at one of the most amazing communication aids for use in hospitals to help nurses and their patients with communication difficulties talk to each other. It’s called Instant Voice and I got the chance to talk with the developer and CEO at the NTI conference back in May in a special interview segment. That is coming up later on in this episode.
If you want to get back in touch with me, please drop me an email. You can send those e-mails in to NursingShow@Gmail.com. I love to hear from you and I make sure I respond back to every email that comes in. Send me links to news items you’d like me to cover, interview suggestions with you or somebody you know.
Tip of the Week – NTI Instant Voice Communication Software
Rose Medical Systems is a San Diego Company that has developed a unique piece of software that enables patients who have difficulty communicating with caregivers and nurses to communicate their needs and wants. Instant Voice is a patented system that allows patients who have temporarily lost their ability to speak due to intubation, tracheotomy, stroke, surgery or other causes to be able to fully communicate with their doctors, nurses, caregivers, family and friends! Check out this interview segment with Rose Medical CEO Dan Clark when we met up in his booth at the AACN NTI 2014 conference back in May of this year.
