Welcome to the Show
Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the Nursing Show podcast for nurses, by nurses. I’m your host Jamie Davis and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for checking out the show this week. First up, in this week’s nursing news items, we will look at how forensic nurses are trained to not only collect evidence of a crime but also to help crime victims start to heal.
Then in this week’s special interview segment, I interview Lorry Schoenly who has literally written the book on correctional nursing. Are you curious about what it takes to be a nurse in a prison or jail? Check out this special interview segment with Lorry that talks about her latest book “The Wizard of Oz Guide to Correctional Nursing.” We’ll have that and more later in this episode after the news.
If you want to get back in touch with me, please drop me an email. You can send those e-mails in to NursingShow@Gmail.com. I love to hear from you and I make sure I respond back to every email that comes in. Send me links to news items you’d like me to cover, interview suggestions with you or somebody you know.

Tip of the Week – Book Review Interview with Lorry Schoenly
In this episode of the Nursing Show I got the chance to chat with my good friend Lorry Schoenly who has literally written the book on correctional nursing, several books actually. Her latest work, the Wizard of Oz Guide to Correctional Nursing takes a different approach to helping new and existing correctional nurses stay true to their nursing roots.
She advises through the experiences of the characters from the popular children’s story that each nurse has the tools within them to be the perfect nurse wherever they find themselves. Check out this interview with Lorry about her book and correctional nursing recorded especially for the Nursing Show.
