Speaking of continued opportunities for growth in the future job market, Nursing and other health professions will continue to be the strongest growth market in the near future according to another article I found at Time.com. In the most recent jobs report at the Federal level, the largest single sector of the jobs added in February were healthcare jobs. In fact, healthcare has added almost a half a million new jobs since the previous year.
Healthcare 9 in 10 of Growth Jobs
Nurses and nurse practitioners rank among the highest in the fastest growing jobs out there. Healthcare captures nine of the top ten in that fast growth list. So if you’re in nursing school, you’re in the right place. If you’re thinking of going back to school in the near future to get an advanced nursing degree, that looks to be a good idea as well.
You can follow this over at the link in the show notes for this episode or in the U.S. Department of Labor statistics download called the “Occupational Outlook Handbook.” Now I have to add a caveat here. There are going to be some areas of the country where there are a lot of nursing schools and not so many job openings because of it. You should consider this and understand that there are jobs out there, plenty of them in fact, but you might have to be willing to move to where the nursing jobs are located.
I’ve talked about this on the show in the past, most recently just a few months ago. If you do find a job in an interesting way or location, let me know about it and maybe I can share your story here on the Nursing Show so that we all can benefit from your experience.
